No, you do not need to sign up. There is no account to create.
Backups and device changes
Because the data lives on your phone, export a backup regularly with the PDF and CSV export. Some states also set rules for lost or stolen journals, so check your state handbook. Read do notaries need a journal and our privacy policy.
